The Portraits” is a collection of six cinematic sketches that depict the various means of social and environmental issues.

The first portrait in this collection, named “Portrait of an Investigation”, is the story of a painter and his daughter living in a lonely valley, who is actively involved in social activities.

The second portrait, “Portrait of an Agitation” , delineates an agitation of the people against an illegal mineral sand-mining project  in a sea side village which resulted grave environmental issues…

“Portrait of Mechanisation”focuses on  labourers who lose their jobs owing to mechanisation.

“Portrait of a Counter-attack”,  portrays a protest by the youth demanding social justice..

“The  Portrait of Encounters”, shows a encounter by the police  and activist people..

The last portrait, ‘We are all going to sleep… All of us’,  is the story of an unknown epidemic called the ‘sleeping disease’ that  mysteriously affects the whole city—an epidemic which makes all the people of the city descend into sleepiness and lethargy.

The movie “The Portraits” thus serves as a single canvas where all the different faces of  social and environmental issues come together.
